Author Gayle Highpine talks about the many similar views of Bigfoot in Native American culture. Bigfoot is viewed as a big brother to Native Americans in many tribes throughout North America. Indians see Bigfoot as a warning to change their ways or as a reminder of their faults. He is believed to be interdimensional with the ability to present himself only when he chooses, with a reason. Therfore his presence is recognized with great importance. However, Bigfoot legends are not limited to North America in itself. Based on the legends of Native American culture, different versions of Bigfoot have appeared throughout the world.
